Here are the healthier alternatives to popular snacks and meals that will shrink your waistline and shave off body fat for good. Including these 10 foods swaps in your weight loss program will shed the fat from your tummy and get rid of jiggly bits. By just making these changes you could lose up to 10 lbs in a year. That’s right, a simple swap of these fat burning foods could slim you down 10 pounds. Do I have your attention now?

I was having lunch at my house with an old friend over the weekend (sleeping Toddlers will do that to you) when he spotted some sweet potato fries in the fridge that I had as left-overs from the night before. He had flown in from Singapore but was an Aussie friend who had been in the States a few days and mentioned to me that he had noticed that a lot of restaurants were now offering sweet potato fries – on their menus. “Why is that- are they healthier for you than regular fries?” he asked me.

My answer – absolutely a better choice if that was a choice you had to make.

‘Choose it’ means you want to eat this as an alternative to the ‘Lose it’. Thus to pull your belt notch in – get rid of the “lose it” from your weight loss program altogether.

Hummus dip 7 layer dip Oh where do I start? Stick with chickpeas found in hummus that are awesome for providing fiber and protein. Good in the fight again diabetes and rising blood sugar levels 
Whole Grain English muffin Bran Muffin You will save yourself a whole bunch of added sugar, fat & about 250 calories. Don’t be deceived into thinking a store bought bran muffin is a good breakfast for you. 
Brown rice White rice You will add in more vitamins like B1, B3, B6 as well as more fiber 
Nuts- Almonds/walnuts Pretzels Potato chips Nuts are imperative for brain health and essential good fats as well as various vitamins like vitamin D in walnuts 
Baby spinach, kale, arugula (rocket) Ice berg lettuce The darker the green the better! You will have more fiber and more vitamin A & C 
Greek yogurt Sour cream or Mayonnaise You will save about 150+ calories and about 20g of fat per serve. Plus add good stomach bacteria and increase your bone density with the added calcium from the yogurt.
