I was fortunate to pin down Patricia Friberg, a fitness instructor at many Los Angeles Hot Spots. She also has two fitness DVDs which are selling like hot cakes on Amazon.
Most importantly, she is an exceptionally busy mom/mum (for the Aussies out there) of two children under the age of five. She works, juggles kids, husband and life…but like many of us she did have a personal struggle with weight gain during her second pregnancy. In this video she shares her own weight loss struggle and also reveals how she turned it around for weight loss success within a busy life.
Patricia gives you five key tips on how to make sure you squeeze some fitness into your life, for sanity and weight loss. Of course, I forced her to share one of her favorite family friendly diet recipes as well. Check it out below the video.
Spaghetti squash and meat balls
1 xSpaghetti squash
1 box Whole wheat, sprouted wheat or rice Spaghetti (Angel Hair is super fast)
1lb or 500gm Ground lean turkey, chicken or beef
Oregano, basil garlic, salt, pepper to taste.
1 jar of spaghetti sauce organic, no sugar.
Cut spaghetti squash in half take seeds out, and place in one large Pyrex dish or two small ones with a little water in the bottom of dish. Cook 375 degrees until the outside is soft usually 30- 45minutes depending on size of squash.
Depending on the picky eaters in your family, season the ground meat accordingly, with garlic, oregano, basil, pinch of salt, pepper. Make into balls and place in Pyrex dish with 1/4 of sauce from jar. Put in oven 375 about 30 minutes or until cooked thoroughly.
Cook pasta as per directions and heat sauce.
With a fork pull the stringlike squash from the sides and place in a bowl.
You can put the meatballs and sauce on the spaghetti squash alone or combine with pasta.
